Englewood Police Fourth Platoon was a squad created in May 1970 to patrol "trouble-prone areas" between six p.m. and two a.m. There was public debate over the usefulness of the Platoon and its effect on the relationship between the Fourth Ward and Englewood Police
The City Council of Englewood first met in 1904. The council is a legislative branch of the local government. Five members are elected for three-year terms. Four are elected by their wards and the final is elected in a city-wide vote.
