The Liberty School was founded in 1903. It was renamed the Russell C. Major Liberty School in 1999 after the death of Educator Russell C. Major. Due to the building's structural integrity deteriorating the school district sold the building in 2003.
The Lincoln Elementary School was created in 1869 on Humphrey Street and Englewood Avenue. The school was originally known as the Brick School House. At some point before 1900 it was named Lincoln School. The building was burned down in 1917, however, a new one was made in 1918…
