Title

Crispy Crust Pizza

Description

Crispy Crust Pizza is a pizzeria in Englewood. It was opened around 1980. Due to sanitation issues, it was sold to George Pappahem in 1982 who effectively met sanitation standards. The Sugar Hill Gang's Henry Lee "Big Bank Hank" Jackson worked as the pizza shop manager at Crispy Crust. In the summer of 1979, Sylvia Robinson, owner of Sugar Hill Records, put together the Sugar Hill Gang in front of Crispy Crust. The Pizza shop is a landmark to the birthplace of commercial Hip Hop.

The Pizzeria is still open today.
