The New Jersey Campaign for a Nuclear Freeze began in the 1980s. It was a part of a larger movement during the era calling for nuclear disarmament. The headquarters was opened on August 31st, 1982 in Bloomfield, New Jersey. Reverand Robert Moore was the chairman of the organization's committee. William O'Brien Boldt was the campaign manager.
