Description
On June 6, 1970, Smith and Mays Electronic Store was bombed by Julius Smith. This was twelve hours before Smith was set to testify before a Grand Jury where policemen Warren Lewis, George Howe, and Timothy Toine were accused of beating a man in their custody, Thomas E. Salmon. Smith believed that outsiders of Englewood did the bombing to cause tension between the police and the community.
