Description

Charles Jackson was Englewood's first black policeman. He began working with the department in the 1920s. He married civic leader Alva Jackson. He had one daughter, Ida Dudley. Jackson died of Typhoid fever during the 1936 epidemic. The city replaced Jackson with another black police officer named George V Tines.
