Description
The Friends of Irish Freedom (FOIF) was an Irish-American political organization founded in New York City in 1916, shortly after the Easter Rising in Dublin. Its primary purpose was to support Irish independence from British rule, and it became one of the most significant Irish nationalist organizations in the United States during the early 20th century.
By 1919 Englewood had a chapter of the Friends of Irish Freedom. P.H. Grattan was the president and J..J Markham, W. Corcoran, J.J. Gunn, and J.A. Giegold were the other officers.
