Englewood native Tony Herbert is a bass player and longtime friend of the Isley Brothers’ inner circle, associated especially with the band Sunrize, which served as a kind of extension/fringe project to the Isleys.
In “Take Me to the Next Phase: Coming of Age with The Isley Brothers,” he is identified as “the second keyboardist and long-time Englewood resident.” He also played bass for Sunrize, a funk/soul/disco outfit produced by the Isleys, which recorded one album.
