Description
Eric Jay Williams is a singer and songwriter. He was born in Englewood and attended Dwight Morrow High School.
He began collaborating with legendary Hip-Hop DJ and producer Marley Marl. Williams was a pioneer of blending R&B with rap singing while on tour as part of the R&B group The Flex with LL Cool J, Heavy D, and Craig G. William sang on LL Cool J’s hit “Around the Way Girl,” which was LL Cool J’s first top Ten single. In 1996, Williams joined The Blackstreet founded by Teddy Riley. He sang on the group’s second album Another Level, which went platinum four times and peaked at number three on Billboard. The song “No Diggity” on Another Level, was voted number ninety-one by Rolling Stone and MTV 100 Greatest Pop Songs.
