Description
Malcolm Stevenson Forbes was a businessman and politician. He was born in Englewood. He graduated from Lawrenceville School in 1937 and gained an A.B. from the School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University. He enlisted in the Army in 1942. From 1951 to 1957 he was a member of the United States Senate. Afterward, he became involved with the Forbes magazine which was founded by his father. He gained control of the company after his brother Bruce died in 1964. He married Roberta Remsen Laidlaw in 1946. They divorced in 1985. He had five children, Malcolm S. Jr., Robert Laidlaw, Christopher Charles, Timothy Carter, and Moira Hamilton.
