Description

Christopher Howard Jasper was a singer and music producer. Jasper's older sister Elaine married Rudolph Isley. Originally from Cincinnati, Jasper visited his sister often in Teaneck. He started to gig with Ernie and Marvin in a trio called the Jazzmen Trio. He studied at the Juilliard School of Music and C.W. Post University. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts. He also attended Concord University School of Law. He played music with Marvin and Ernie Isley, eventually joining the Isley Brothers group in 1973. The original group disbanded in the 1980s, but Jasper, Ernie, and Marvin continued singing together under the name Isley-Jasper-Isley. This group disbanded in 1987. Jasper did many recordings as a solo artist. He worked with numerous artists including Liz Hogue, Out Front, and Brothaz By Choice. He married Margie Jasper. He had at least one son, Michael.
