Description
The Isley Brothers was a R&B music group. O'Kelly Jr, Rudolph, Ronald, and Vernon Isley created the group in the early 1950s. After Vernon passed away, the other three brothers moved to New York City. Their fourth single, "Shout", became their first single to land on the Billboard Hot 100. They also released other hits like "Twist and Shout," "This Old Heart of Mine (Is Weak for You)," and "It's Your Thing." They also created their own label, T-Neck Records. Their younger brothers, Ernie and Marvin joined in 1973 ad did brother-in-law Chris Jasper. The group split in 1983 with Marvin, Ernie, and Chris temporarily forming Isley-Jasper-Isley. The Isley Brothers were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992. They continue to perform under Ronald and Ernie as of 2024.
