Description

Vernon Munroe was an Economist, mayor of Englewood, and president of Englewood Hospital. Munroe was an associate of J. P. Morgan & Co. He graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy and Harvard in 1896. He acted as president of International Motor Trucks Inc., the vice director of government savings for New Jersey, the treasurer of the American Committee of the China Famine Fund, and the treasurer of the Mary Markle Foundation for Medicinal and Scientific Research. He also acted as secretary of the International Committee of Bankers in Mexico in 1941. He married Sally Sprague Cook. He had two sons, David and Monroe Jr.
